Do you have a favorite restaurant around the Columbia area? Or one that's particularly nasty that you would never go to? I try not to eat at most of the restaurants that are in the immediate Columbia area. I really like Broadway 104th Street Cafe.

Why do you try to stay away from the restaurants around here?

Because I've been at school here for three and a half years and I've eaten at all of them a few too many times, and they're never good.

What's the nastiest one you've been too? I'm not particularly impressed with the whole Nacho Mama's redo.

Yeah, I'm pretty scared of that place too.

We're talking about nasty restaurants around Columbia? I don't eat around here.

Why? Because I live all the way downtown.

Are there any nasty restaurants downtown? It's probably a lot better down there. Nasty restaurants downtown? There is one actually. It's on 4th Street near my gym.

What's it called? It's an Indonesian place. Borro-budda or something like that. It's horrible. One time they gave me a fish with the head and the tail. It was just a big disgusting fish.

I think that wins the prize. I ask for fish and they give me a real fish.

Omar Nunez, GS

Do you eat around here a lot? No.

Have you ever been to a really nasty restaurant? I know you have. I'm sure I have.

Can you remember any? You mean specifically? You want a name?

If you have one. Have you ever eaten at Tom's? No. Oh gosh, I guess I'm not being much help, am I?

It's okay. What's the worst restaurant you ever been to, that you can remember? Some Chinese restaurant in New Mexico.

Really, what was so bad about it? It was a really dark atmosphere. But not like dark nice, but dark...

So you couldn't see the roaches in your food. That's what it was. Yeah, it just didn't look too clean.

What's the nastiest restaurant you've been to around Columbia? Any awful memories? Mama Mexico's.

What did they do to your food? Well they charged us over $150 for tequila shots.

You guys took a lot of tequila shots. Well they were also like $12 tequila shots, which we didn't order. But anyway.

What about hair in the food? An eyeball? Anything? No. There's just something about New York Mexican food that's not right.

What about Tom's? I'm not a big fan of Tom's. You know, the roaches and stuff. Oh, I stay away from that place.
