NOMADS

The name says it all: NOMADS-an acronym for New and Original Material Authored and Directed by Students. The group began in spring 2003, when a Barnard student didn't have a method to produce the musicals that she wrote.

This fall, the group presented its first non-musical, Everything Different, by Will Snider CC '09. The group hopes to provide an outlet to writers of dramatic works. However, the group is once again returning to musical theater this semester with a science-fiction musical, All You Zombies, written by Sara Fay Goldman, CC '07, and Erik Jorgensen, CC '07. As the only student group presenting completely student-written full-length theater pieces at Columbia, NOMADS provides a unique service to student theatergoers. Says President Dana Everitt, "It's by students start to finish, and no one else really does that." -Dan D'Addario
