If you’re looking for an old-school challenge, look no further than Treasure’s popular vertical shooter Ikaruga, which is being released on Xbox LIVE Arcade this week for a mere 800 Microsoft Points ($10). Ikaruga was released in Japanese arcades in 2001, but it did make it overseas in a very limited fashion—a GameCube release in 2003 meant that only the hardest of the hardcore got a chance to check out this wonderful game. The game has a superb soundtrack that will really get your blood moving as you fight to survive in what is a fairly lengthy campaign mode—the price is even more attractive when you consider how much content is actually in the title. If you’ve ever played 1942 in the arcades, definitely check out Ikaruga this week.
