» Student Sprains Ankle After Struck by Car

A Columbia College student was struck by a vehicle Thursday morning at the intersection of 125th Street and Broadway. She sustained minor injuries and was later taken to St. Luke’s Hospital for medical attention.

This is the eighth automobile-related accident to take place in the area since pre-construction, the relocation of pipes and wires, began.

According to Director of Public Safety James McShane, the accident happened at around 10:40 a.m. McShane said he believed the victim had suffered a mild sprained ankle, and that she may have already been released from St. Luke’s. As it was not a serious accident, McShane said Public Safety had not followed up on the victim’s condition.
