A man was arrested Tuesday on the Columbia campus after allegedly committing larceny.

The middle-aged man was stopped in the courtyard of Wien Hall by a Public Safety security officer who spotted him with what appeared to be stolen property.

"He had some sort of bag and the rear wheel of a bicycle that he had stolen from a bike that was locked up in Wien courtyard," James McShane, Vice President for Public Safety, said Tuesday.

The man was taken into custody by officers of the New York Police Department's 26th Precinct and has been charged with larceny and possession of stolen property.
