Crowns and frowns

The holidays inevitably come with crowns and frowns.

Crown: Holiday-themed drinks at Starbucks.

Frown: Waiting in an out-the-door line to get one.

Crown: Getting an e-mail inviting you to hear New York Fed President William C. Dudley speak.

Frown: The long waitlist less than 24 hours later!

Crown: Noam Chomsky drops by today.

Crown: Bill Clinton dropped by Tuesday.

Crown: Men’s cross country takes the Ivy League title.

Frown: The poor state of some of Columbia’s other athletic teams.
