The Columbia men’s and women’s fencing teams will be competing in the second half of the Ivy League Championships this Sunday in Philadelphia, Penn.

Last weekend, both teams competed in part one of the championships at Cornell. The women swept all three of their matches, while the men dropped their two contests.

The Light Blue women defeated Yale 21-6, Cornell 21-6, and Brown 24-3. With a 3-0 score, the Lions are tied for first with Princeton, which swept its first matchups as well. The two teams will duel this weekend, as Columbia will take on the Tigers, Penn, and defending champion Harvard.

The men lost to Yale 18-9 and Brown 17-10, falling to last place in the championships. The Lions will have a difficult time trying to make a comeback this weekend, as they will face the defending champion Penn, an undefeated Princeton, and Harvard.

The second part of the championships is set to begin at 11 a.m. Sunday.
