Columbia shuts down Floridita for repairs

The popular Cuban restaurant closed on Tuesday in its current location in Manhattanville, though University officials said it was only temporary.

With the closing of Floridita, 36 employees, many of whom have worked there for over 20 years, are out of jobs. Columbia officials say they must repair the kitchen floor and that it can reopen in six weeks, but a relocation to a new building seems imminent.
