School of the Arts student dies

School of the Arts writing student Tara Riesner passed away Wednesday.

The University did not disclose the cause of death, but sources close to the situation said she took her own life.

An email was sent out Wednesday afternoon to School of the Arts students and faculty confirming Riesner's death.

Columbia Psychological Services is open to all students and has offices open from 8 a.m. to at least 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays. Please see further resources here.
