The men’s golf team had a successful weekend, taking second place at the Patriot Intercollegiate at Laurel Hill Golf Course, a par 71, 6,903-yard course. The Lions, with a team score of 872, finished 11 strokes behind first-place Marshall. The Light Blue had three top 20 performances. Sophomore Harrison Shih finished third, while junior Brandon Jowers took eighth, and first-year Arjuna Anday came in 14th. Shih in particular had a record-setting day, as his score of 210 (-1) was the lowest by a Lion since 1993-1994 and his third-place finish was a career best.
The women’s golf team travels across the country this week to close out the fall season. The team will be participating in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Sammamish, Wash., hosted by the University of Washington, with play commencing on Tuesday and ending on Wednesday. The Lions most recently took fourth place at the Nittany Lion Invitational, where senior Michelle Piyapattra continued her strong season, snagging an 11th-place finish. The Lions have also garnered third- and second-place finishes at the Lady Bison Fall Classic and the Princeton Invitational this fall.
