While their fellow students were on vacation, four Columbia wrestlers spent the end of their spring break in Auburn Hills, Mich. Junior Brandon Kinney, freshman Matt Dunn, and seniors Devin Mesanko and Matt Palmer competed in the NCAA wrestling tournament between March 15 and 17.

A series of close matches and near misses plagued the wrestling team at the EIWA Championships this weekend at East Stroudsburg University. For their efforts, the Lions claimed fifth place out of a fourteen-team field with 74.5 team points.

After nearly two weeks of training, the wrestling team will compete in the EIWA Championships today in East Stroudsburg, Pa. The two-day tournament features 14 teams from around the northeast competing in 10 different weight classes.

It was a weekend of ups and downs for the wrestling team, as the Lions faced three teams in two days on a New England road trip. Columbia suffered a heartbreaking 21-20 defeat to Brown in Providence, R.I. on Friday and a narrow 17-16 loss to Bucknell in Cambridge, Mass. on Saturday.
