Four months later, and The Eye is back in action. In between juggling unpaid internships and wine-and-cheese-fueled Bananagram sessions, we managed to take advantage of our Eye-less summer months and seriously contemplate how to make the magazine better.
As a diversion from last semester’s theme of exploring campus communities, we now intend to shift our focus outward to analyze phenomena in New York City and beyond. Finding ourselves weary of the traditional Eye appearance, we also spent several long Sunday afternoons picking new typefaces and designing fresh layouts. Lastly, we’re proud to launch a new website—now integrated with the daily newspaper’s—to better serve you, our readers.
Thankfully, some things stay the same. We’re still the people behind the magazine you pick up each Thursday. We’re still eager to make you think, and maybe even put your homework on pause to read a feature and discuss it with a friend. (Just don’t tell your professors we said that.)
If you’re interested in getting involved, or have thoughts to share about a piece we published, email us at email@example.com. We know that you’re busy, really. But we promise to make The Eye worth your time.
