If there’s one thing Betsey Johnson devotees learned from her previous fall show--titled “The Betsey Johnson School of Charm"- it’s to dress up, go out, and celebrate. “Life’s a prom,” according to Johnson, and keeping this motto in mind, she presented yet another collection replete with fun and wild outfits bound to catch attention at any party. Male models, dressed in colorful suits, escorted female models in puffy skirts and super-short shorts, all corresponding to the style of six decades from the 1950s to 2000s. Vintage looking, oversize sunglasses were paired with glittering hair accessories to accentuate polka dot peony and luscious lilac dresses. As the beats changed to fit every dress and decade, it was refreshing to see that the models, too, were having fun, playfully shaking their behinds at the cameras and blowing kisses in the direction of the audience. The Betsey Johnson party is contagious, and Johnson herself might be considered the ultimate prom queen as she once again cartwheeled down the runway at the end of the show.
