Inspired by French seaside scenes of the ‘30s, Alice Temperley decorated her runway with large khaki colored beach umbrellas in what must have been a tribute to the French Riviera. For her collection, Temperley played with the familiar menswear-inspired silhouette in the form of pantaloons and high waisted trousers, and added a bit of feminine flair with lacy bustiers and an off-the-shoulder t-shirt dress so form-fitting it was slightly reminiscent of a leotard. The pieces combined ruffles and expertly draped silk fabrics to create the type of glamour the ‘20s and ‘30s are famous for. But classic beauty blended with new school hip with the addition of white wayfarers and sneaker boots, proving once again that Temperley is still the queen of cool.
