Thuy (pronounced "twee") Diep successfully created a spring collection that merges her personal east coast style with her Vietnamese origins. Her spring line is divided into four looks, each incorporating tailored details which the designer attributes to her upbringing in a family of dress makers. She perfected the white, business casual look with sheer, crisp fabrics in sexy shapes prove to be nothing but flattering. She fashioned the second theme of the show by mixing floral brocade skirts and jackets with simple pieces. Her third look officially brought back ladylike school boy outfits with vests, blazers, and long shorts. Her final, and most impressive turn was comprised of spectacular formal wear in metalic blue with futuristic necklines and scooped backs. Thuy, a style genius, hoped that girls from uptown as well as downtown enjoy her clothes. Are you listening, Morningside Heights?
