Questions for Ahmadinejad

I don’t have any questions for a man who is a genocidal, Jew-hating maniac who has called for the elimination of America and Israel from the face of the earth and is busily acquiring nuclear weapons to carry out his sick plan. I do have a question for Lee Bollinger: what on earth could you have been thinking?
-David Horowitz, Columbia College class of 1959

You have been characterized by many as a demon of destruction of Israel and the Western World. Is that a mischaracterization, or do you really think Israel and the West are anathema to the Islamic world, and is that your justification for willing annihilation upon those whose culture and religious beliefs differ from yours?
-Jim Gilchrist, founder of the Minuteman Project

How do you reconcile Iran’s pursuit of the science-based technology of nuclear power with acts of harassment and intimidation directed at professors and students in universities from which Iran’s next generation of scientific leaders must emerge? Do you really believe that modern technology can flourish in a state where final authority is vested in religious leaders rather than in the open inquiry of modern science?
-David Helfand, professor of astronomy

It is a well-known fact that you wish Israel to be “wiped off the map.” Are you referring to all of Israel’s population, or only its Jewish citizens? How would you propose this be accomplished? Would you like all 7 million Israelis killed, forced to flee to other countries, or some combination of both? How would you propose efficiently killing so many millions of people or forcing them out of their homes?
-Seth Flaxman, Columbia College class of 2007

How do you reconcile your commitment to the annihilation of Israel with your responsibility for the welfare of your own people?
-George Rupp, former university president

As an international research university; a diverse and dynamic community of students and scholars, we hold sacred the rigors of intellectual inquiry and the right indeed the responsibility to express dissent about words and deeds that offend us. Your words and deeds offend us. What are your sacred values? What gives meaning to your life and grounds you as a leader of one of the oldest and most significant nations in human history?
-Jewelnel Davis, University chaplain
