Barnard First-years Elect 2011 Class Council

Reni Calister was elected president of the Barnard class of 2011 last week.

Just under half of eligible voters participated in the elections for Callister, Vice President Becky Gimple, and Secretary Abbey Warner. The vote was held from Tuesday to Friday, and SGA announced the results over the weekend.

Warner said that she was “very relieved to have won,” adding that her only future plans for the class were to “do my job as well as I can.”

She attributed her victory to door-to-door campaigning. “I think [it] was very helpful. It’s a big school, so while you try to vote for the person who deserves it, it can also come down to who you have met before.”
