TV Guilty Pleasures: Dog the Bounty Hunter

Watching Dog and his team of bounty hunters seek out a fugitive on A&E’s Dog the Bounty Hunter is like a late night overdose of caffeine—the need for sleep dissipates, and euphoria sets in. The reality series follows Dog and his familial team of bounty hunters, including his well-endowed wife Beth and two of his 13 sons, Leland and Duane Lee, as they scour the streets of Hawaii looking for law breakers out on bail who have failed to appear in court—among them methamphetamine addicts and perpetrators of domestic violence. Smooth talking, fast thinking, and with knowledge of all the tricks in the proverbial book, Duane “Dog” Chapman, a convicted felon himself, sports a blonde pompadour paired with a leather vest (sans shirt), and steel-toe cowboy boots. He has literally never let a fugitive get away.
The reality series is on at moderately random (and sometimes irregular) times, often in the middle of the night. I sacrifice much to watch a half hour of men with muscles, the thrill of chasing a bad guy, and gallant displays of machismo—Leland, arguably the hunk of the team, fully equipped with muscles and tattoos, never fails to protect his younger sister and fellow bounty hunter Baby Lyssa, as evidenced by one of my personal favorite episodes, “The Smackdown of Baby Lyssa.”
Self-described “second chance people,” Dog and Beth strive to find ’em and fix ’em. The empathy they show for (most) cons is inspiring. Their comic-book super hero looks—which were spoofed on South Park—add to the fun of watching. If you, like I, are fascinated by how other people live in this world, enjoy a good chase with a (usually) happy ending in which you can be optimistic that a criminal will reconsider his life choices, tune into A&E Tuesdays at 9 p.m. for episodes, or check out A&E.com for clips.

Hi i think Dog is fantasic,,,,I seen the programme one afternoon by accident,,, i thought what is this shit,,,, sorry been hooked ever since ,,, and love it told my mum about Dog and now she is hooked to. I have watched "DOG" for a long time and have seen him interact with people of many races. I have never heard him make any reference to race. One of the reasons I watch A&E is because of the DOG show. If he is taken off the station, I will not be watching it. I support you Dog.

Dog has a temper, and dog should learn to control his temper. But first and foremost, I feel he needs to learn to control his kids. It would seem that two of them of gone to the Enquirer and sold him out. The second one got $1500.00 and a knife, which he stuck into his fathers back. "Dog, have Beth pull the knife out and hand it to you so you can cut the cord. You dont need kids like him around you. He will hurt you again>
I just have to say I LOVE the show and everything the Dog and his family do to make this world a better place! He made a mistake and obviously did not mean it in the way it came out! So quit being whiny little BITCHES and put the show back on!!!!!!!!

I think the show is so good! Dog and his family is doing something good for this world! I think they are doing better then these stupid cops sitting on there ass not doing thing! And i always think Leland is a so hott! And beth you are so pretty! Dog you are always looking good for your age! I just wish you would show more about what goes on in your house hold! And think god for DVR b/c now i get to watch everyone of your shows! and i don't think they should take you off the air You are the best show on that T.V. show!

I watch the show all the time and I think it is great! I have a question though, what is the black things that are in Dog"s ears attached to his glasses? Anybody know?I"ve seen Beth where them before too.Just would like to say that Leland is very good looking!!
just to clarify. the Dog doesn't have 13 sons. including one adopted daugher, he has 12 children, of which 4 are girls. one boy died in infancy, and his eldest daughter died May 19, 2006.
so he now has 10 living children.

We love the show, no matter what time it comes on...thank goodness for my DVR. Dog and his team rely on Christian beliefs and it transends his crazyness.
