Over the Wire

PUBLISHED JANUARY 25, 2008

The parade of developers looking to capitalize on your nostalgic longing for the days of the Nintendo 64 continues this week with Propaganda Games’ Turok demo, released on Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network. Hop online to download this free snippet of the sequel to 2000’s Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion—that absolutely nobody asked for—because you may end up enjoying it anyway. The game brings back the series’ trademark dinosaur battles but eschews the trademark weapons (including the world-renowned cerebral bore—you can image what it does) in favor of more standard space marine fare. Though Turok himself has been transformed from a Native American warrior to a marine with only the slightest trace of Native American heritage, the game still might pique your interest, despite losing a lot of the series’ personality.
