Trustees Add Two New Members

PUBLISHED OCTOBER 24, 2006

Columbia has appointed two new members to the University board of trustees.

Kyriakos Tsakopoulos, CC '93, and Kenneth Forde, a Physicians and Surgeons alumnus, were officially welcomed onto the board during the trustees' October meeting, according to The Record. They will take the places of retiring members John Chalsty and George Van Amson.

Tsakopoulos works as a land developer in California. In 2004, he funded the Kyriakos Tsakopoulos chair in Hellenic studies in the classics department. He is now the youngest member of the board.

Forde graduated from City College of New York and then came to Columbia. He served on the faculty of the medical school as a professor of clinical surgery from 1966 to 2006.
