Fix-it

PUBLISHED FEBRUARY 7, 2007

Last week, Fix-it took a look at a broken printer in the 616 Barnard computer lab. According to Andrew Blaner, associate director for Technical Support Services at Barnard, the printer has been repaired, and both printers in the lab have been equipped with 512 megabytes of memory to speed up print jobs.

This week, we find that washing and drying machines throughout Barnard's Sulzberger Hall are broken. "It's a serious problem because I don't like hauling my laundry up to the eighth floor," said Jessica Wall, BC '10 , who lives on the fifth floor of Sulzberger. One dryer on her floor is covered with masking tape in an attempt to keep it closed, while an adjacent washer is filled with foul-smelling brown water. Additional broken machines include a washer on the seventh floor, a dryer on the sixth floor, and two dryers on the second floor.
