Fix-It

PUBLISHED FEBRUARY 28, 2007

Last week, Fix-It raised complaints about a broken shower in Reid Hall. According to Julio Vazquez, director of Barnard facilities services, the shower has been shut down for over 10 years. "We are looking into it," Vazquez said. "We're trying to find out the reason for it [being broken], whether or not the water line was cut. ... We need to find out exactly what's wrong with it."

This week, we find that the help box on 119th Street and Claremont Avenue is out of order. "It's probably been on the fritz for about a month now," said Bill Plackenmeyer, director of Barnard security. According to Plackenmeyer, a broken solar panel on the box is causing the problem. "We're waiting for an evaluation to be done of the solar panel, to find out exactly what's going on with it."
