Fix-It

PUBLISHED MARCH 28, 2007

Last week, Fix-It talked about defective dryers in East Campus. According to Nikkia Sharpe, assistant manager of residence halls, housing has called the machines' vendors, who have extracted all excess lint from the cavities of the lint trays. They also inspected the machines and verified that their temperatures are hot enough. Sharpe added that, later this week, all duct work in the back of the dryers will be removed and cleaned to ensure that the heat going into the machines reaches the dryers' interiors.

This week, we find that the elevators in Carman Hall regularly skip the floors that they are supposed to stop on. Whitley Granberry, CC '10, said that the elevators often skip her floor, which she said was frustrating and time-consuming. "When I have to get somewhere important, I don't play around with the elevator," she said. "I just take the stairs, and I'm on the seventh floor."
