Robinson Chosen as ESC Director of Technology

PUBLISHED APRIL 17, 2007

Stephen Robinson, SEAS '08, was chosen as director of technology for next year's Engineering Student Council in an election held last night during the council's weekly meeting.

Jiasi Chen, SEAS '10, Tushar Khandelwal, SEAS '10, and Mikhail Klassen, SEAS '09, also sought the position. An e-mail was sent to all engineering students in an effort to garner candidates for the position. Students seeking the post were asked to submit a statement and a portfolio of previous Web sites and graphic designs. Candidates gave three-minute speeches, after which council members asked them questions.

Some of the responsibilities of the DOT include maintaining the ESC Web site, collaborating with other councils through online scheduling and Web development, and working with council members to create online surveys or discussion forums.

"I'm very pleased to have the opportunity to work on the ESC," Robinson said. "My main focus would be to integrate technology into the ESC system to help facilitate new projects and lay the groundwork and foundation for future projects."
