Fix-It

PUBLISHED APRIL 25, 2007

Last week, Fix-It looked into leaky ceilings in McBain Hall. According to Daniel Held, director of communications for Columbia's Department of Finance and Administration, the leaks were due to heavy rains. "Currently, we have stopped the leak and are evaluating the best course of action to fully repair the ceiling with minimal inconvenience and disruption to students," Held wrote in an e-mail.

This week, we find that a shower in a fifth-floor Hartley suite has been broken for over a month. Shayne Barr, CC '09 and a resident of the suite, said the loss of one of the suite's two showers was inconvenient because residents' showering times often conflicted. "It is annoying to me," he said. "There are a lot of people in the hall, and we've been reduced to one shower."
