Fix-It

PUBLISHED MAY 2, 2007

Last week, Fix-It brought up a broken shower in Hartley Hall. According to Daniel Held, director of communications for Columbia's department of finance and administration, the shower needs new flooring and subflooring. "Since an installation like this can be noisy and would require taking other showers offline as well, a decision was made to wait until the space is vacated, so as not to disrupt students during study days and final examinations," Held said in an e-mail.

This week, we find that drinking fountains in both the lobby and basement of Carman Hall are broken. According to Juinn Ho, SEAS '10, the basement drinking fountain has been broken all year. "It sort of sucks just because when you're doing laundry in the basement, it's real hot down there, and it forces you to go to the vending machine, even though you just want water," Ho said.
