City Council member Mark Levine's proposal to expand the Citi Bike bike-sharing program to the Upper West Side will be a great improvement to the neighborhood's transportation as well as a welcome option for travel to and from Columbia's Manhattanville campus.
As part of its One Train Portal Project, the MTA shut down the bus stops on Broadway between 122nd and LaSalle streets in September, forcing locals to walk to 120th or 125th streets in the winter cold.
The MTA will implement Select Bus Service on the M60 bus route, making it faster and more efficient.
The new, more spacious buses are already being phased into the route. While the new buses will save the city money, they will also increase waiting times for commuters.
