Men's Golf Wins Ivy League, Women Take Second Place

This year, both the men's and women's golf teams were extremely successful,
with the culmination of their efforts being a first-place finish for the men
and second-place finish for the women at the Ivy League championships.

Men's Golf Wins Championship, Women Take Second Place

It was a tremendous weekend for both the Columbia men’s and women’s golf teams at Ivy League Championships. The men won the championship title for the second time in program history, and the women came in a close second, only ten strokes behind first-place finisher Harvard.

Lions Target League Title at Ivy Championships

The Columbia men’s and women’s golf teams will compete in the Ivy League Championships this weekend after the completion of semi-successful seasons.
The women rounded off league play with the self-hosted Second Annual Roar-EE Invitational in Mamaroneck, N.Y. at the Hampshire Country Club and placed seventh out of 14 teams at the tournament.

The Columbia men’s and women’s golf teams were in action this weekend at different venues, as the men traveled to New Jersey for the Princeton Invitational and the women were home to host the second annual Roar-ee Invitational.

Golf Tees Off After Strong Fall Season and Training

The Columbia men’s and women’s golf teams have recently returned from their separate training trips and are ready to start their spring season. The women went to Hawaii where they competed in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Kaneohe, finishing eighth out of 16 teams. The men’s team traveled to California, where it competed in two tournaments, the Diablo Grande at Drake University and the Western Intercollegiate in Santa Cruz.

Golfers Head to California and Hawaii for Break

During spring break, the men’s and women’s golf teams will begin their 2008 season. The men will open up in Patterson, Calif. at the Diablo Grande Invitational, and the women will begin their defense of their 2007 Ivy League championship with the three-day Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, hosted by the University of Hawaii in Kane’ohe, Hawaii.

Golf Finishes 11th at Yale

The Columbia men’s golf team finished in the top half of the field at Yale’s annual home event in New Haven. This year’s Macdonald Cup featured a field of 26 teams, including six of the Ivies. The Bulldogs came up short by five strokes to eventual champion Texas Christian University.

Golf to Tee Off in New Haven Tournament

The Columbia men’s golf team will be heading to New Haven to compete in the Macdonald’s Cup, hosted by Ivy rival Yale. The site will be the 6749-yard Yale Golf Course, often considered one of the best collegiate venues in the nation. The tournament is named in honor of famed architect and USGA cofounder Charles B. Macdonald.
