Community Impact

It is clear that service is at the heart of Columbia student life, but the administration does not commit enough to the needs of service-minded groups like Community Impact.

The Harlem Restoration Project’s small office may be easy to miss on one of West Harlem’s busiest streets, Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, but the work that goes on inside has had a huge impact on the lives of those the organization was built to serve.

Provost Alan Brinkley has awarded Community Impact $20,000 to be used for service learning fellowships for students.

Community Impact, the board that finances and oversees 25 community service programs at Columbia, is set to hold its open house tonight in the wake of a major budget cut.
