Another Day Older and Deeper in Debt
Drawing from oral history, public history, music, and other forms of popular culture, Another Day Older and Deeper in Debt attempts to explain how the many little moments in American History pertain to the present and future. Jennie's column often includes visits to places around the city and the country, explaining their historical relevance, and their importance in the current day. Jennie's column looks at "the old weird America" as posited by Greil Marcus and attempts to reconcile folk history and city history in new and unique ways. A history nerd and collector of factoids, she has worked with StoryCorps, the Barnard Zine library, and this semester is with the American Social History Project. An avid cook, cyclist, tap dancer, and gardener, Jennie's column parses varied interests.
