Softball drops game to Knights, will finish year against Penn

The Lions dropped their only game against Fairleigh Dickinson yesterday 4-2 as the second game in the doubleheader was canceled due to a rain delay. The Light Blue wraps up its season this weekend with four games against Penn, the first two of which will be at home on Friday for senior night.

No-hitter another highlight in Johnson’s CU career

Senior Maggie Johnson threw a no-hitter this weekend against Princeton. The no-no was Columbia's first since 2006.

Softball extended its winning streak to seven games in the doubleheader opener before losing the final game of the series to Princeton and lacrosse takes on Princeton tonight in its final Ivy game of the season.

Softball sweeps Princeton on Sunday

Bad weather pushed the second of the Light Blue's doubleheaders against Princeton to Tuesday, but Sunday's games saw Columbia sweep the Tigers. Senior pitcher Maggie Johnson also threw a no hitter during game two.

Men's Heavyweight Rowing
The Columbia men’s heavyweight rowing team struggled this weekend in stormy conditions, as it lost both of its events in the Blackwell Cup regatta. The Lions were taking on Yale and Penn, who placed first and second in the cup, respectively. Columbia took third in both the Varsity Eights and Second Varsity Eights, as it was outrowed by a large margin in both races. The Bulldogs have seen victory in the Blackwell Cup most often in recent years, and Saturday was no exception.

Sports briefly: Women's tennis wraps up Ivy season, Lacrosse hosts Yale during senior night

The women's tennis team will finish its season this weekend as it takes on Penn and Princeton, and the lacrosse team, who is fresh off of a win over Lafayette, will take on the Bulldogs in its final home game of the season. Softball, track and field, men's and women's golf, men's heavyweight and lightweight rowing, and archery will also compete.
