During a discussion about the 2016 presidential elections at this semester's undergraduate fireside chat, University President Lee C. Bollinger asked a student from Turkey about ongoing efforts to alter the Turkish Constitution. He then asked the crowd of about 50 undergraduates how many followed Turkish politics. Only a few students raised their hands.

An email sent to Columbia College and School of Engineering and Applied Science students at 2:11 a.m. Tuesday from Associate Dean for Residential Life Cristen Kromm said that a male student was seriously injured after a fall from an upper level of Wien Hall on Monday night. The student has been taken to St. Luke's Hospital for medical attention. See the full email below.
