Instead, this year, the COVID-19 pandemic has spread Columbia students across the globe, ushering in an unprecedented political and public health climate. In this past weekend’s Homecoming game, football secured the win in an unprecedented 44-6 blowout over Penn. This was only the second time the Lions have defeated Penn since 1997. After a slow start to the season, football responded to an energetic Homecoming crowd and defeated Penn in what could become a momentum-building win.
