Men’s tennis hit the ground running on Saturday to open up Ivy League play, sweeping Cornell at home.

From sliders, to green salads, to new flavors of energy drinks, attendees of Saturday’s Free Food Expo, co-hosted by Spectator and the Columbia College Student Council, were treated to a variety of tasty bites from local restaurants and vendors.

A faithful group of Lions fans arrived at Carmichael Arena in Chapel Hill on March 20 to watch women’s basketball defeat the University of Washington, securing its first NCAA tournament victory in program history.

Men’s tennis traveled to California over spring break to take on the University of San Diego and Pepperdine University, splitting results to end a five-match winning streak.

Women’s basketball fell to Harvard in the Ivy Madness final on Saturday in a narrow 74-71 loss. While the Lions kept it close throughout the game, they struggled defensively against the Crimson’s star guard Harmoni Turner. Now, Columbia finds itself in a familiar spot again, having lost the Ivy Madness final against Princeton last year. It must rely on an at-large bid to go to March Madness.

PROVIDENCE, R.I.— Women’s basketball narrowly defeated Penn in the Ivy Madness semi-final on Friday. With this victory, the Lions move on to the tournament final, where they will face off against either Princeton or Harvard for a chance at the league’s automatic berth into March Madness.
