In a protest organized by the Graduate Workers of Columbia against President Donald Trump's recent immigration ban, hundreds of students and faculty members assembled in front of Low Library to share personal testimonies and calls to action.

Last Saturday, we sent our photographers to document Columbia students and protesters at the Women's Marches on Washington, D.C. and New York. Over a hundred students attended the historic event, which drew nearly half a million people.

Over 40 members of Columbia Divest for Climate Justice stayed inside Low Library on Thursday afternoon for the beginning of the sit-in. Sixteen would sleep inside the building later that night.

At 4 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, about 40 Columbia Divest for Climate Justice members—many of whom are still inside Low—entered the building while members of the Barnard Columbia Soildarity Network held a rally on Low Steps to show support for the group.

Despite the drama preceding this year's Bacchanal, students came out en masse to brave barricades and unseasonably chilly weather in celebration of the event dubbed the "most fun day of the year." The concert featured headliners Rae Sremmurd and surprise artist Hippie Sabotage, as well as singer-songwriters Marian Hill and Bibi Bourelly.
