In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, stock prices for Zoom Video Communications have risen over 45 percent over the past five days. The Nintendo Switch is now sold out on Amazon and at other major retailers. While universities have evacuated students from their dormitories and state governments have moved to enforce shelter in place regulations, many within the Columbia community—along with undergraduates across the nation—have shifted to video conference classes, Facetime calls, and virtual dating.
Have you run out of swipes on Tinder, spent an entire day watching TikToks, or revived your Club Penguin account? How many hours of beauty vlogs have you watched in the past week?
Help us document Columbia’s virtual community by responding to this survey of how your own daily media and technology consumption has changed during this time. All responses will be recorded anonymously unless permission is otherwise given.
