Columbia College announced its 22 Junior Phi Beta Kappa recipients. The remaining eight percent of Phi Beta Kappa recipients from the class of 2021 will be announced in the spring.

Twelve Barnard seniors were inducted as Junior Phi Beta Kappa, the college announced on Friday.

Messages between members of the Columbia chapter of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, nicknamed Fiji, have circulated over the past week, implicating several students in racist comments targeting a Black woman photographed in The Denver Post after being tear-gassed by police. One fraternity member’s concerns were dismissed when he expressed disgust with a joke that compared the tear gas—a toxin linked to chronic respiratory diseases and miscarriages that has been used as a weapon against protests—to semen.

Committing to transferring schools is a big decision: Something wasn’t quite right at your previous school, you put in the work to apply to colleges again, and you got in. Congratulations! Successfully undergoing the transfer application process is no small feat, and actively making a big change for yourself is to be commended.

48 School of General Studies seniors have been inducted into the New York Delta chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.

Ninety-seven Columbia College seniors have been inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, in addition to the 24 students initiated last semester, the college announced Monday.

In my personal experience, Paris has the best public transportation of all time; trains that come every three minutes on the dot; plush, leather, baby blue seats; and shockingly clean tracks. So when I took the New York subway home from JFK at the end of spring break, you could imagine my disappointment at its decaying state—unidentifiable sludge dripping from the rusted ceilings, rats scuttling over the tracks, an overhead light flickering, filled with the twitching bodies of half-dead insects.
