Over the past 13 years, Community Food & Juice on Broadway has never done a delivery order. Every now and then, the restaurant would fill a takeout order for a regular customer, but the restaurant primarily operated as an eclectic sit-down establishment. Once the pandemic hit, Community had to quickly pivot to what co-owner Dede Lahman described as a “takeout and delivery machine.”

On the corner of Columbus and 109th Street, new restaurant Ortomare is bringing authentic Italian cuisine across the sea to the piccolo metropolis of Morningside Heights. “Ortomare” comes from the English translation of the Italian phrase, “orto e mare,” meaning “the vegetable garden and the sea.”

Dear Koronet Pizza,

The man waiting to place his order at the register taps his fingers on the counter to the beat of Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side,” which is playing over the ambient din of the restaurant. He is tan and wearing a circle scarf—dad-age, but the kind of dad who knows the difference between Kobe and Wagyu beef and who has been on the receiving end of a manicure. He looks a bit like what I imagine Barbie’s boyfriend would look like at 50.

Staying in New York for spring break and don’t know what to do? Love pizza? Sick of eating Koronets (temporary RIP) and Famiglia every Friday at 2 A.M.? Well, do we have the perfect day planned for you: a day spent touring NYC through pizza. Spend a day going around the city trying some of the best pizza places and passing by all the famous NYC sights along the way. Major plus: Since you’ll be walking so much, you won’t have to worry about eating too much.

Most broke college students can appreciate a good slice of pizza, but few go to the level of using it as an artistic muse. That is, until a group of WBAR-ians started making music together last year and chose the name Drug Pizza.

Columbia students know more than anyone that the alcohol-induced midnight hanger is a real thing. The usual antidote would be a $3 K-slice, but sometimes we wanna avoid that post-Koronet's bloat.

Every summer, students of the four colleges march into Commencement with small, inflatable quasi-mascots. Barnard wields giant Bs, Columbia College carries tiny Roar-ees, SEAS brings in massive red hammers, and General Studies sports racing flags.

Rare Candy, a Columbia-born and student-run underground music blog, will showcase a variety of local artists on Saturday, Feb. 28. The concert will feature a unique assortment of New York bands, including Columbia's Orca Minor, Neoseeker, and Drug Pizza.
