Women’s soccer was defeated twice this weekend, falling to Pepperdine 2-0 on Friday and to Loyola Marymount 2-0 on Sunday.

Track and field will compete at the ECAC Outdoor Championships at Princeton this weekend.

When Devon Towell first came to Columbia in 2013, she was her high school’s record holder in the 800-meter run and a two-time outdoor Pennsylvania state medalist—in short, she had met nothing but success in her high school running career. But as a first-year at Columbia, Towell struggled with the higher intensity of Ivy League track.

This weekend, track and field will split its squad between the Metropolitan Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Rutgers and the Ocean State Invitational in Providence, Rhode Island.

Track and field competed in the Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton and in the University of Virginia Quad Meet over the weekend.

The Lions will participate in the Sam Howell Invitational in Princeton, New Jersey, as well as the University of Virginia Quad Meet this weekend. Meanwhile, senior Anna Williams will head to the Auburn Tiger Track Classic in Alabama for the triple jump, an event in which she was the Ivy League champion in the indoor season.

Track and field saw success at three separate meets this weekend, including major wins by junior Ryan Thomas in the 5,000-meter and senior Robert Napolitano in the 1,500-meter.
