Men’s basketball crushed the United States Merchant Marine Academy by a score of 98-49 on Saturday. The rout was a return to winning ways for the Lions, who had won eight games in a row before losing to the State University of New York at Albany last Wednesday.

Senior forward Nata Ramirez started and finished her Columbia career the same way: scoring goals. She found the back of the net in her career debut against St. John’s University on Aug. 17, 2021 and in her last game as a Lion against Brown on Nov. 8. The two goals bookended a prolific career for Ramirez, who will graduate from Columbia this fall with 21 goals and as one of the top ten scorers in program history.

Men’s basketball beat Long Island University 80-72 on Wednesday, bringing its season record to 6-0. This is the Light Blue’s best start to a season since 1969 and makes Columbia the only undefeated team in the Ivy League.

Columbia women’s soccer kept their top spot in the Ivy League this past Saturday, remaining undefeated against their Ivy league opponents with a comeback 3-2 win over the Yale Bulldogs.

Women’s soccer picked up two wins last week, crushing Cornell 4-1 before beating Dartmouth 1-0. Columbia is now ranked first in the Ivy League and is the only team in the Ancient Eight with an undefeated in-conference record.

Women’s soccer kicked off its 2024 Ivy League season in style on Saturday, beating Penn 3-0.

Columbia women’s soccer continued its tough out-of-conference schedule last week and this Sunday with matchups against Fordham University and No. 9 Pennsylvania State University following its loss against then-No. 2-ranked University of North Carolina (8-1).

Undergraduate students at Columbia College and the School of Engineering and Applied Science must take two physical education courses to graduate. But for many students enrolling in classes for next semester, finding a spot in a P.E. course has been a challenge in itself.

Men’s basketball defeated Long Island University on Tuesday and the University of Maine on Saturday, picking up its fourth and fifth wins in a row. The five-game win streak is the team’s longest since 2016.
