Clay Watson, CC '21, has been suspended from the men’s heavyweight rowing team after allegedly breaking into a student's room in Sulzberger Tower earlier this month.

The Columbia student charged with intruding in a Barnard dorm will be suspended from the men’s heavyweight rowing team indefinitely, according to a Columbia Athletics spokesperson.

Clay Watson, CC ’21 and a member of the men’s heavyweight rowing team, allegedly entered a room in the Barnard Quad last month while intoxicated and in the nude. Police sources said that he proceeded to urinate on the resident’s belongings before being apprehended by Barnard Public Safety and the New York Police Department, the New York Post reported last month.

Barnard began an investigation into the incident earlier this month, and Watson is set to appear in court on April 23.

Columbia Athletics declined to make Watson available for comment.
