The center opened in fall 2018, shortly after Beilock came to Barnard, and was made possible by a $70 million combined gift from Philip Milstein and Cheryl Glicker Milstein, BC ’82, chair of the Barnard board of trustees; the Tow Foundation; and Dr. P. Roy Vagelos, VP&S ’54, and Diana T. Vagelos, BC ’55. The donation remains the largest combined donation in the history of the college.
