Annually for the past 11 years, women’s basketball has hosted Education Day, a game played on a weekday morning for the benefit of a few thousand excited school children packing the stands of Levien Gymnasium.

Rarely has Levien Gymnasium been home to marquee matchups. More often than not, it features the Lions making admirable efforts, but perpetually falling just short.

With 12 seconds left in the game, the win was sealed. The Lions had stopped the Big Red on fourth down and pulled out a miracle comeback.

At halftime, football went into the locker room at Brown Stadium down to the Bears 20-14. Brown came into the game at 1-7 overall and 0-5 in the Ivy League and was hoping to send its seniors off on a high note in its final home game of the season.

All season long head coach Al Bagnoli has generally praised his group’s effort after every game, win or loss. Saturday’s loss proved to be an exception to that trend, as Bagnoli was disappointed with the effort.

For head coach Al Bagnoli and his staff, it felt like a vivid nightmare relived when fourth-string senior quarterback Ryan Suitt went down with an injury and was carted off the field. Earlier in the game, junior running back Lynnard Rose was helped off the field and did not return.

In the aftermath of Saturday’s 28-12 Homecoming defeat to Dartmouth, football’s head coach Al Bagnoli took to the microphone at the press conference. Bagnoli has built a reputation during his time at the Ivy League for his incredibly cerebral postgame interview, having an impressive recall for various occurrences during the game.

Football will face a stiff challenge in undefeated Dartmouth, hosting the Big Green in its annual Homecoming game.

As head coach Al Bagnoli made the familiar walk from the field to the media room at a place he called home for 23 years, he was not entirely dejected. Despite the difficult loss, he acknowledged that the team fought hard in the end and he was proud of the effort.

Football will travel to Franklin Field in Philadelphia this weekend with a second straight victory over Penn in its sights.
